For parents who are using the set down area we ask that, if approaching from Ashford that you continue past the school and turn at the entrance to the laneway by reversing into the laneway. The Gardaí have asked that there be no reversing back out onto the road as this is a traffic offence which can result in a ticket being issued. Parents can then proceed to the set down area where the children can be dropped off. The set down area is to be strictly used only for dropping children and not for parking. We are hoping that if all families can adhere to this it will make drop off a lot safer for everyone involved. Both corners of the laneway must be kept clear at all times and this includes pickup times also.
Leading on from discussions with the Gardaí, we would ask that no three point turns are allowed below the school to ensure free flow of traffic.
For this to work we need the cooperation of everyone involved and we would ask that if others are dropping your child/ren that you discuss this with them so that they understand.
